The Commissionerate Police is planning to recommend Government to give bravery award to Runu Behera and her only son, wife of caretaker Prashant Behera who was murdered along with Dr Atulya Chandra Meher at Khandagiri here recently.
Commissioner of Police Dr RP Sharma said he would soon submit a proposal to the Government seeking financial assistance for Runu Behera as she has spent huge amount money in private hospitals for her recovery. She had received multiple injuries as the accused Sneha Swakhyar Samal attacked her with a knife while she tried to rescue her husband, son and owner Dr Meher from his clutch.
Sharma further stated that a proposal would soon be made to the Government for bravery award to Runu and her son. Besides her husband, Runu also lost a 15-year-old son in the incident.
