Cuttack DCP Akhilesvar Singh on Monday denied the allegation of Kendrapada BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty that a city police inspector had misbehaved with him.
“The allegation of about the Purighat police station IIC misbehaving with the MP is not correct,” Singh said, adding that an investigation would be made if a formal complaint is made in this regard.
Over a spat between Mohanty and BJD student leader Manjit Das late on Sunday night, the former had tweeted to the Twin City Commissioner of Police alleging that he was misbehaved by the IIC.
Sharing a common boundary in a locality under the Purighat police station here, the MP and the student leader of the same party had entered into a heated exchange of words over vehicle parking.
The MP reportedly had brought this to the notice of the local police over telephone; and soon after, twitted alleging that the police misbehaved with him and subsequently twitted another video.
On the other hand, Manjit alleged that the MP has actually defamed him in the public.
When contacted, an officer of the police station informed that no FIR has been filed by any of the parties in this regard.
