The Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) on Wednesday slammed the Naveen Patnaik Government for capturing Sangram Mohanty soon after he was released on bail from the Brahmapur Circle Jail on Tuesday. In a Press release, OJM president and Rajya Sabha member Pyarimohan Mohapatra decried the Government’s action, saying it was a bright example of Hitler rule.
“The police arrested the young engineer branding him as a Maoist within four days after he joined OJM. Subsequently, the police registered as many as 15 false cases against him. While the Supreme Court granted him bail in nine cases, in last two cases the High Court granted him bail last week. Unfortunately, he was again detained by the police in front of the Berhampur Circle jail,” said Mohapatra. Daring the Government to release Sangram immediately, Mohapatra urged people and politicians to raise voice against the undemocratic practice.
