The Dhenkanal police again took Seashore Group chairman and managing director (CMD) Prashant Dash on a two-day remand starting from Monday after his earlier five-day remand period ended. Police would interrogate Dash to unearth more information on his involvement in the multi-crore chit fund scam, said sources.
Earlier on January 5, the Seashore chief had been released from the Jharpara Circle Jail in Bhubaneswar after he got bail in eight cases.
However, he was again arrested on January 6 from his residence in Bhubaneswar in connection with three more chit fund cases pending with the Dhenkanal police.
Meanwhile, the CBI has filed a second charge-sheet in the Seashore chit fund scam against five persons, including Dash, BJD MlA Pravat Ranjan Biswal and his wife laxmi Bilasini.
