The BJP on Wednesday trained its gun against the State Government for an alleged corruption of Rs 1,000 crore in allotment of PMAY houses.The party staged protests before block offices across the State starting its three-day stir. Memorandums are being sent to the Governor through BDOs. The party demands exemplary punishment to the people directly involved in the scam.
While the State Government has failed to equally distribute 8,17,000 PMAY houses allotted by the Centre, where nine districts got nil four districts got very negligible allotments. A Central team investing on the scam has exposed the misdeeds done in the allotments.“PMAY is a flagship programme of the Modi Government, but the State Government rather than giving benefits to the poor have allotted many houses to BJD workers. The Central team has bared the ground reality where it found there has been irregularity in allotment of at least one lakh houses,” BJP State president Samir Mohanty said.
