Paika organisations are now upping the ante over their demands for a Paika Regiment in the Indian Army, a Paika war museum at the foothills of Barunei, a big statue on Barunei hill like Statue of Liberty, a ropeway from Gada Khurda to Barunei, Martial Arts Academy at Gurujanga, financial assistance to all Paika Akhadas and pension to Paika Gurus.

Historian and advisor of Kalinga Paika Sangathana and Utkal Vikash Parisad Satyabadi Baliarsingh by email to Prime Minister Modi has raised the demands.

The demands are pitched when on Monday Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the State will issue a Paika Revolution commemorative coin and a stamp and announce establishment of Paika Revolution Research Chair at the Utkal University. Odias as whole and Paikas in particular are very much impressed on the development.

Meanwhile, while the demand of postage stamp on Buxi Jagabandhu by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was fulfilled by the Union Government but another demand for a train from Bhubaneswar or Khurda Road to be named after Buxi Jagabandhu is yet to be fulfilled.
