Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit Rourkela on April 1. Union Tribal Affairs Minister and local MP Jual Oram said on Sunday that Modi would dedicate the modernisation project of the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) to the nation.
In fact, most of the projects under the modernisation programme of the RSP that had begun on January 4, 2008 at a cost of Rs12,000 crore have now been completed and operationalised.
The Prime Minister would also lay foundation-stone for expansion of the existing airstrip in the steel city. Besides, he would also address a public meeting and attend some other functions.
Though there has been no confirmation by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Modi’s visit as yet, the RSP authorities and BJP State leaders have already begun their preparations for the visit.
