The police administration has planned an elaborate traffic management system for hassle-free movement of crowds to the venue where Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address a public meeting here on Thursday.
Several roads connecting the meeting venue will remain closed from 7 am till end of the programme. Temporary parking places have been identified at different locations to accommodate vehicles coming from different directions like Baripada and Jaleswar end, Bhadrak, Remuna and Balaswar town end.
According to the traffic plan, no roadside parking would be allowed in between the road from Bampada level crossing and the Nocci park. Similarly, no parking would be allowed between Banaparia and Modern Engineering College, informed SP Niti Sekhar.
The vehicles coming from Bhadrak end would be parked at Apple Garden Somnathpur, Nocci field, Janta High School field, Kuruda and the Banaparia field.
The vehicles coming from north end, Jaleswar and Baripada, would be parked at the Industrial estate, Baruni Haat and the truck terminal.
The vehicles coming from Remuna would be parked in the field behind the Nesco and the Remuna Mahotsav field.
The vehicles from Baleswar town end would be parked at Saraswatipur field, Chandmari field and fields near the light House, stated Sekhar.
The vehicles having passes would be parked in the cement godown areas and the vehicles on the official duty would be parked at the RMC ground.
These restrictions wouldn’t be applicable to ambulances and fire service vehicles, he added.
Five officers in the rank ASP, three Deputy Commandants, 16 officers in the rank of DSP, 60 Inspectors and 200 SIs and ASIs have been engaged for the security.
“The security has been broadly divided under three heads, helipad, meeting venue and traffic management. As many as 60 platoons of police force have been deployed,” said ASP Santosh Nayak .
ADG Satyajit Mohanty and ADG Sunil Ray are looking after the overall security aspects, said sources.
