Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Baripada on January 5 next. Though the deatails of his tour are yet to be known, he is expected to address a huge gathering here.
With a view to making the PM’s visit a grand success, a meeting of BJP office-bearers was held here on Saturday being presided over by BJP State president Basant Panda and attended by other party leaders including Manmohan Samal, Pratap Sarangi, Bishnu Sethy, Rajkishore Das and the district presidents of Bhadrak, Baleswar, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.
Hundreds of party workers from 28 Assembly constituencies spread over these five districts assembled for this preparatory meeting.
People here expect some special New Year package from the PM for this part of Odisha.
