The annual Plus Two theory examinations, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), began at 1,080 centres across the State on Monday. A total of 3,24,461 students in Arts, Science and Commerce streams are appearing in the examinations. Students of the twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack were seen entering the examination hall half an hour before the commencement of the examinations at 10 am.
Earlier, the question papers kept in 205 hubs were brought to the examination centres amid tight security and opened in the presence of a senior district official as a representative of the Collector. After the conclusion of the examinations, the officials would collect the answer sheets and deposit them at the hubs.
To prevent malpractice, the Council has formed a three-tier squad while Executive Magistrates were assigned for overall supervision of the examinations in each district. Similarly, the annual Class X examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Indian Council of Secondary Education (ICSE) too began in the State from Monday.
While about 5000 ICSE students of 83 schools in the State are appearing in the examinations, about 50,000 CBSE students from Odisha, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal are appearing under Bhubaneswar region.
