Plus II exams cancelled in State: Naveen

Two days after the cancelation of the CBSE examinations, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has cancelled Class-XII (Plus II) examinations this year. The decision was taken in view of the uncertain conditions due to the Covid-19 pandemic and following the feedbacks received from various stakeholders.

Announcing the decision on Friday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, “Education and livelihood have been the worst-affected during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. However, keeping everyone safe in this pandemic is most important. Keeping this in view, the Plus II exams conducted by CHSE have been cancelled this year.”  “Ample opportunities will come in future and the civilisation will grow only if we survive now,” he stated.

The CM also directed the CHSE to consult experts for recommendations and take steps to compile results of Plus II students as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner.

If a student is not satisfied with the evaluation, he or she can appear in the exams and the CHSE would take a call on conducting the same after reviewing the Covid situation.
