Plus II evaluation hit in Mayurbhanj

Published on:

The evaluation of answer sheets of +2 examination was hampered in Mayurbhanj district even on the third consecutive day on Friday due to demonstrations and picketing by the Block Grant lecturers.

At all the evaluation centres of Baripada, Rairangpur, Udala and Karanjia, the lecturers have been vehemently protesting the evaluation work since Wednesday when the process began. At the Divine Institute Evaluation Centre at Baripada, while on Wednesday not a single examiner joined in duty, on Friday,  only two about-to-retire senior lecturers joined as examiners. The situation was reported to be almost the same at Rairangpur, Udala and Karanjia.

Most of the lecturers coming to the evaluation centres favourably responded to the agitators’ appeal to support their cause and leave the evaluation zones. The Block Grant lecturers claimed a total success of their agitation in the district. Those who are leading the stir include Sangram Keshari Mallik, Hiranmatyee Satpathy, Harekrushna Samal, Asima Sahu, Babita Mohanta, Priyadarshini Ipsita Dash, Yajnaseni Ray and Gopalkrushna Mohanta.

The Block Grant teachers have been agitating for fulfilment of their demands including withdrawal of affidavits, granting of full GIA with all service conditions, etc.
