Keeping in mind the observation of the Peoples Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA) Week from Monday, the plying of Government buses on 20 routes have been stopped in Gajapati district.
Many of the night buses plying through Adaba and Mohana to nieghbouring Andhra Pradesh have been stopped for security reasons. But private buses are plying as usual.
But the Maoist’s PLGA Week impact is yet to have any impact in the district. Earlier, the Red rebels had put up posters and banners particularly in Mohana block, urging people to make the PLGA Week a success.
In the last few years, due to constant vigil and public relationship drives, youth have stayed away from Maoist organisations.
The Gajapati police said they have beefed up security in the district and intensified patrolling in the sensitive areas.
