Allegations continued to mount against one Pradeep Mohapatra, who has been arrested for impersonating as a doctor to extort money at the Apollo Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Mohapatra, who had on several occasions left no scope for others to have a speck of doubt about him by maintaining a lavish lifestyle, recently duped a mobile shopkeeper in the Chandrasekharpur area of the city.
According to the Saheed Nagar police, Mohapatra's operations were not confined to Odisha. He has eight cases registered against him with the GRP, Bhubaneswar as well as in Sambalpur, Baleswar and Visakhapatnam.
Police said that Mohapatra would be taken into their remand, if necessary, for further investigation.
