The Puri-based Jagannath Sena on Monday lodged a complaint against the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Superintendent at the Lingaraj police station in Bhubaneswar alleging dereliction in duty by the official in connection with the ongoing Shreemandir Corridor Project near the Jagannath Temple.
The Sena alleged that ASI Superintendent Arun Mallick did not take any action and remained silent over the “illegal” constructions within the 100-metre prohibited zone of the temple violating the AMSAR Act.
The outfit complained of connivance of Mallick in the alleged illegal activities and urged police to book him under criminal sections for allowing digging in the prohibited zone by the different agencies without prior permission.
