Place all Bhushan documents in Assembly: Bijay

Senior BJP leader Bijay Mohapatra on Tuesday urged the State Government to produce all the documents of the Bhushan Steel limited’s plant at Meramundali since its inception before the State Assembly and close the plant declaring it unsafe.

“The audit report shows that the blast furnace-I is also unsafe. The company has violated all industrial norms and laws of the land. The Government should declare the plant unsafe before commencement of the Assembly session (on November 28) and produce all documents beginning from the inception of the plant in the Assembly,” said Mohapatra at a Press conference here.

He also demanded that the confidential report recently submitted by labour Commissioner to the Government be placed in the Assembly.

Stating that all the skilled workers hired by Bhushan for technical work belong to Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand, Mohapatra decried the indifference of the local elected representatives who did not put pressure on the company to engage ITI graduates and diploma students of the State in the plant.
