Under the direction of Gajapati district Collector Sudhansu Mohan Samal, a team led by Paralakhemundi Sub-Collector Anam Charan Patra raided various ice cream and water pouch manufacturing units in the town on Sunday.
The team raided a total of four units and sealed two of them on the spot. The Siba Shakti water pouch manufacturing unit near the Gajapati Stadium was sealed as it could not furnish the required documents. Similarly, the team sealed an ice cream unit in front of the Royal Palace here for its alleged illegal operation without any signboards.
However, the owners of the rest two manufacturing water pouch and ice cream units, which were raided at Ramsagar and near the new bus-stand, have been asked to furnish necessary documents. Necessary steps would be taken after verifying the documents.
The Sub-Collector said raids would be continued in the district and all those water pouch and ice cream producing units running illegally would be sealed. Senior doctor Mubarak Ali was also in the team.
