Finally, AIIMS Bhubaneswar will have its Deputy Director (Administration). The post is lying vacant for nearly a year. PK Ray from Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar, has been selected for the post.
Meanwhile, Utkala Bikasha Juba Parisada president Debiprasad Prusti said that the appointment of the top post in the AIIMS is an outcome of his outfit’s constant demand with the PMO and Union Health Ministry. The Parishad was constantly in touch with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health Minister JP Nadda to take steps for filling the top administrative post in the AIIMS in the city, he said.
“Our Parisad members every day used to a send reminder to Prime Minister Modi and Health Minister Nadda through email,” said Pristi. Prusti also informed that his outfit’s other demands concerning the AIIMS include power transfer to the Director, regular governing body meeting, filling up nursing principal post and all faculty posts.
