Pratap Chandra Mishra, Record Keeper in the office of Pipili Tehsildar in Puri district, was arrested by the Vigilance police for taking bribe of Rs 500 on Thursday.
He was caught red-handed by Vigilance officers in the Record Room of the tehsil office while accepting the bribe from Himansu Sekhar Nayak of Madhusudan Nagar, Jatni in Khurda district.
Mishra had demanded the bribe from Nayak to issue a land patta in his favour in a mutation case. The bribe money was recovered from Mishra’s pant pocket.
