Seven persons, including former Pipili MlA Yudhisthir Samantaray’s son Priyabrata, were on Thursday arrested for their alleged involvement in the firing and bombing incident during idol immersion at Madhipur in Pipili two days ago.
As per reports, a clash had broken out between two groups during the idol immersion at Madhipur. The accused went on a rampage and set ablaze three motorcycles. Since the incident, the accused had gone into hiding.
The local police raided the houses of the accused and arrested them.
“We carried out raids at various places for their alleged involvement in violence during the idol immersion. We have arrested Priyabrata Samantaray, Bapi Sethi and Pompa, among others,” a police offer said.
