The police and the auto-rickshaw association of the city have decided to launch a ‘Pink Auto-Rickshaw’ service (for women passengers) from five places of this Millennium city from Wednesday.
“After its success in Bhubaneswar, it was decided to extend the women-friendly public transport service in Cuttack,” said city traffic ACP PK Dalai. Initially, about 100 pink autos would run from five places and, subsequently, the facility would be extended to other places. Sources said the facility would be thrown open to public from the Badambadi bus terminus, railway station, SCB Medical College Hospital, Sailabala Women’s College and the Satellite city of Markatnagar.
