To popularise photography, a unique ‘Photowalk’ programme was organised by members of the Brahmapur Photowalks Group on social network Facebook at the Gopalpur-on-sea on Thursday.
A total of 11 photography enthusiasts participated in the programme. The group has been operational on the Facebook since cyclone Phailin hit the State in 2013. Now the number of members of the group has risen to 60.Thursday’s programme was a special attraction as it was organised under the banner of the Roots of India, a national-level photography organisation.Photos of the walk and the photos by the photographers would be sent to the Roots of India for selection. Thus selected the photos would be exhibited across India, said Dr Jyoti Prasad Pattnaik, a member of the Brahmpur Photowalks.
He said the group would organise similar programmes in future. Besides, the group is now planning to involve schoolchildren in the programme in order to make them aware of environmental protection, said Dr Pattnaik.
