Pharmacist wears helmet

A pharmacist of a Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Khaprakhol block of Balangir district reportedly wore a helmet soon after a portion of the hospital concrete ceiling fell off on Tuesday.

A piece of the ceiling of the Dhandamunda PHC fell while Sumant Nayak was distributing medicines among patients.

“I and a few patients had a narrow escape. This forced me to wear a motorcycle helmet,” Nayak said.

Locals said the hospital building is in a dilapidated condition. However, the authorities are yet to look into the issue.

Medical Officer of Dhandamunda PHC Balakrushna Purohit said he has verbally urged the authorities concerned to repair the building, but nothing has been done in this connection.
