Panic spread here as a band of six unidentified miscreants looted a petrol pump near Khodasingi on the outskirts of the city at gunpoint.
They came in three motor cycles and asked a staff to fill fuel worth Rs 400 in each vehicle. When the filling staff asked them for money, they got irritated and blank-fired to terrorise him. There was no other customer in the petrol pump during the time.
later, the miscreants barged into the manager’s room where pump owner Banamali Sethi, his relative Kura Sethi, Badal Patra and two other persons were present. The miscreants, flaunting sharp weapons and pistols, snatched away a cash bag. They blank-fired again and fled from the spot.
Being informed, Brahmapur SP Anirudha Singh and BNPur IIC Ajay Mishra reached the spot and started an investigation. They noted down statements of the eye witnesses. The police also reportedly blocked NH-5, Sithalapalli Road, Pokadibandh Square, Gopalpur and Golanthara Road to nab the culprits. However, none of the looters had been arrested when the report was being filed.
