A two-day seminar ‘Sustainable and Equitable Bhubaneswar City’ organised by CCWD, NIDI, Bhubaneswar and Action Aid here was inaugurated by freedom fighter Bhabani Charan Pattanaik. Focusing on sustainable and equitable city, Pattanaik reflected on rural pockets’ development and people’s participation as most essential. Other speakers spoke on environment, climate change, road and transport, water, sanitation, traffic control, protection of women, children and senior citizens etc.
Among others, former Finance Minister Panchanan Kanungo, Prof SN Patra, environmentalist Nadia Chand Kanungo, former bureaucrat Karunakar Pattanayak, BDA PRO Madhumita Rath, former Information Commissioner Prof Radha Mohan, Kirti Saha, Praffula Dhal , Pritha Chatarji and Aurobindo Behera spoke.
