Vigilance officials on Wednesday conducted a raid on the residence of Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) Purandar Sahu of Daita gram panchayat in Bargarh district on the charge of acquisition and possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Verification of various documents of his movable and immovable properties was underway till the last report was filed. The exact amount of the disproportionate assets that the panchayat official has possessed would be ascertained after completion of the raid.
The total assets of Sahu and his family members were calculated as Rs 97.35 crore. The enquiry was in progress.
