Pensioners can now get life Certificates online

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday launched two portals, the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) and the Digital life Certificate-Jeevan Pramaan, for better financial management and helping State pensioners to get digital life certificates, respectively, at the State Secretariat here.

“I hope the IFMS will improve governance through better financial management, enhance transparency and accountability by means of information and communication technology. The Digital life Certificate will enable us to deliver a critical service through the ‘Aadhar’ platform to the senior citizens who have retired after rendering service under the State Government,” Patnaik said.

With this, Odisha became one of the few States to implement the IFMS in the country with a focused approach and clear implementation strategy.

“I hope these two e-governance initiatives will make it more user-friendly. I call upon district Collectors, Treasury Officers and Branch Managers of the authorised banks disbursing pension to ensure that the Digital life Certificate initiative is implemented with all sincerity in the interest of the pensioners,” Patnaik added.

Now, the State pensioners drawing pension from treasuries and banks would be enabled to generate Digital life Certificate through Aadhaar- based biometric devices installed in all 165 Treasuries across the State. The pensioners can also generate and submit Digital life Certificates through the Jeevan Pramaan Portal. They would not be required to be physically present before the Pension Disbursing Officers.

The Chief Minister also greeted the people on the eve of Deepavali. “I take this opportunity to wish all the pensioners good health. Happy Deepavali to all,” he said.
