More than 50 quintals of wheat was seized by officials of Civil Supplies Department and Brahmapur Tehsildar Rashmi Ranjan Nayak while it was being transported in a truck under suspicious circumstances here
near Khajuria road.
According to sources, after getting complaints of illegal transportation local Civil Supplies officials along with the Brahmapur Teshildar intercepted the truck.
The sources said the truck loaded with at least 100 packets of wheat weighting 50 quintals was going to Rabala from Brahmapur Regional Marketing Co-operative Society illegally.
The police detained the truck driver and started investigation into the issue. However, the black-marketer who was going in a car before the truck managed to flee from the spot.
