Press Council of India (PCI) Chairman Justice Chandramauli Kumar Prasad called on Governor Dr SC Jamir at the Raj Bhawan here on Sunday.
PCI members SN Sinha, Krishna Prasad, Rajeev Ranjan Nag, Kosuri Amarnath, Prabhat Dash, Prakash Dubey Chhaya Kanta Nayak and Bipin Newar were also present.
Prasad apprised the Governor about powers, functions and responsibilities of the PCI and discussed about various issues relating to the print media of national importance.
The Governor suggested the Chairman to take steps for checking negative journalism for interest of the country.
Prasad presented a PCI golden jubilee memento, a commemorative coin and a souvenir to Jamir. The Governor’s Principal Secretary CJ Venugopal was present.
