The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) on Tuesday observed the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by garlanding his statue and holding a meeting. PCC president Jayadev Jena garlanded in the statue of Rajiv Gandhi at the Raj Bhavan Square.
later presiding over a meeting at the State party office, Jena said Rajiv Gandhi dreamed for a modern India. Specifically, he stressed on development of science and technology and welfare of common people through a three-tire panchayati raj system. Now, the UPA Government has taken steps to provide food for all by initiating the Food Security Bill, he said. Among others, senior congress leaders Bhupinder Singh, Niranjan Pattnaik and Sivananda Ray were present.
