After a few months’ lull, there was a demand for change of the State Congress leadership on Sunday.
Party MLA Suresh Kumar Routray, while saying that there is a move to have a new Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president, claimed that as many as 13 leaders, some of them former PCC chiefs, are in race for the post.
Another party leader, Sarat Rout, whom Suresh Routray named as a PCC president aspirant, stated that there is “a need” to change the PCC leadership now and the party high command should act accordingly.
PCC vice-president Pradeep Majhi, whom Routray also referred to as another leader in the race, however, in his reaction, said he is not at all interested for the post.
Incumbent PCC president Niranjan Patnaik’s response to the issue was not available.
