PCC chief: Budget anti-farmer, anti-Dalit

Published on:

Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Prasad Harichandan termed the State Budget 2016-17 as ‘extremely disappointing, discouraging, anti-farmer and anti-Dalit.’

He alleged that the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government is anti-farmer and anti-Dalit what the Budget has made clear. The Government is hell-bent on patronising the corporate bodies at the cost of the farmers and marginalized sections of the State, he opined, fuming that there is no financial provision for the poor, farmers, workers and the unemployed in the Budget.

“There is no point in making a separate Agriculture Budget when the farmers are in utter distress and are forced to resort to distress sale of paddy,” said the PCC chief.
