Samajwadi Party State president Rabi Behera on Saturday demanded that a compensation amount of Rs1.5 lakh be given to the family of each of the five deceased who drowned in Biluakhai river on Friday.In a letter to the CM, Behera also sought assistance of Rs50,000 for each injured. “The State Govt had paid Rs1.5 lakh as compensation to the family of each Hirakud Reservoir boat tragedy victim. Though the accident here is very similar, it has provided just Rs 10,000 as compensation and Rs 2,000 for funeral rites to each victim’s family,” Behera lamented.
