Police on Saturday arrested a person here on the charge of producing forged Covid-19 negative reports to people.
The Abhaychandpur police arrested the acused Kalindi Tarai of Dalimbapur village.
Police sources said it is mandatory for the workers at the Paradip Oil Refinery to produce Covid-19 negative report in order to get permission to continue work at the plant.
The accused took advantage of it and gave forged documents to the workers for a nominal charge of Rs 30.
While he was minting money with this unfair practice, police somehow came to know about it and raided his house. He was reportedly running his business since last few months.
A laptop, a printer, rubber stamps and other incriminating documents were seized from Tarai’s house. The police are investigating further into his activity.
