Pradesh Congress Committee president Prasad Harichandan was caught up in a controversy after a photo surfaced showing him with the prime accused in the Friday Patrapada firing incident Rashmiranjan Patsani.
The photo showed Patsani garlanding Harichandan at a certain function. Besides, there is another photo in which Patsani shared dais with Harichandan, his father-in-law and senior Congress leader Suresh Routray, leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Narasingha Mishra and other party leaders.
Commenting on the photo, Routray said, “Rashmiranjan has no criminal background. He is a good organiser.”
Notably, Pattshani, Krushna Chandra Bhujabala, Susanta Parida, Sachitra Indrajeet, Kabul Behera and Kulu Nayak of Patrapada were for attacking six youths at Patrapada late on Friday night. They allegedly opened fire and attacked them with sharp weapons during the scuffle.
