Internationally famed textile designer lalata Mohan Patnaik, eminent graphic designer DN Rao, and well-known sculptor Damodar Behera have been nominated to receive this year’s BC Mohanty Award, 2014 in recognition of their contribution to fine arts.
The award is conferred for excellence in fine art by BC Mohanty Memorial Trust formed in memory of the nationally acclaimed sculptor Bipra Charan Mohanty.
The veteran artists would be felicitated and conferred with the awards at the BC Mohanty anniversary function, organised jointly by the Odisha lalit Kala Academy and BC Mohanty Memorial Trust at the Idcol Auditorium on November 25 at 6 pm, said the Trust chairperson Rita Mohanty.
According to her, former Minister Amar Prasad Satapathy will grace the occasion as the chief guest while State Culture Secretary Arabinda Padhi and Director lalit Das will be guests of honour. Academy president Siba Panigrahi will preside.
