Even after 70 years of Independence, the movement of ambulances to Chambeiguda village under K Sitapur panchayat in Kashingar block of Gajapati district is not possible due to the absence of an all weather road.
In emergency situations, the patients and pregnant women are put into great inconvenience and have to be carried on shoulders to the hospitals. The tribal dominated village on the main road to Kashinagar has a population of 200 people. Most of them are tribals and poor.
Though the residents have informed the administration a number of times, no steps have been taken to solve their problem. Adjacent to the village on the foothills of a mountain, two other villages Tarala and Raimba are located. These villages also do not have a fair weather road.
So, in case of sickness in these villages, the patients have to be carried on shoulders, said locals laxmi Jani, Jayanti Raita and Pabitra Jani. The district administration should immediately construct a pucca road, they demanded.
