Tension gripped the Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital here on Saturday as relatives of a deceased patient vandalised the hospital alleging negligence in treatment as the reason behind the death.
According to reports, one Ramakant Ray of Birajapalli here had been admitted to the hospital five days ago after he complained of chest pain. He was later discharged but brought back to the hospital on Saturday morning after he again complained of pain in chest.
Alleging that delay in taking the patient to ICU over a fee payment issue led to the patient’s death, his family members created ruckus and ransacked the hospital breaking doors.
Police were deployed at the spot to avoid any further untoward incident.
