Passenger restrooms turn to shops in G'pati

Published on:

Many of the Yatri Bishramagars (passenger restrooms) in Gajapati district are found to be used for other purposes rather than to help travellers get relief from scorching heat or rain.

Such an example has come to the fore in the Goshani Nuagaon block area. The passenger restroom located near the Garabandha Primary Health Centre is now used as a vegetable sale counter. While bags of potato and onion have been kept on one part, the other part is being used as a vegetable retail counter.

Resultantly, long-route passengers are facing a lot of problem as they don’t find any place to take rest while waiting for buses during high temperature. They keep standing for hours to catch a bus.

locals have demanded that the restroom be evicted soon for use of passengers.
