The secretary of Chandighar Primary Agriculture Society (PAS) under Simulia block has been placed under suspension by the district Collector on the charge of dereliction in duty.
It was alleged by farmers that although they were issued tokens for selling paddy in five dates, the paddy procurement couldn't be made. As a result, 95 farmers couldn’t deliver their produce in the society. After getting complaints, district Collector K Sudarshan Chakravarthy had directed the civil supply officer (CSO) to conduct an inquiry against secretary Rabinarayan Barik.
Barik was suspended for resorting to irregularities in paddy procurement. The Collector also warned the other officials of tough action if they failed to perform duty during the procurement of paddy from the farmers.
