Following detection of a positive case of Covid-19 in the densely-populated Sector 9 at Abhinav Bidanasi (CDA area) here, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner on Sunday declared a part of the area as a containment zone.
Sources said a police inspector of Cuttack (rural) district, who stays here in the Satellite city with family, has tested positive to the virus. While his family members are now under quarantine, the corona warrior is undergoing treatment at a nearby Covid Hospital.
CMC Commissioner Ananya Das, exercising powers conferred upon her as the empowered officer; declared the containment area as out of bounds for public for the purpose of active contact tracing. The inhabitants within the containment zone were asked to remain indoors.
