The Fakir Mohan University would offer part-time BEd course for the serving teachers after the authorities have received a communication to this effect from the Government.
University PG Council Chairman Prof Munesh Adhikary said the course would be offered from the current education year and the modalities of selection would be communicated through a notification after the Puja vacation.
Notably, there was a demand for opening part-time BEd course from the serving CT-trained teachers, who are otherwise unable to take up regular BEd course.
According to the Government decision, this course would be offered in three more universities, MPC University, Rajendra University and Sambalpur University. There would be 50 seats and the candidates have to attend at least 120 classes in a year and it has to be completed within three to five years after admission.
