The Parichay Foundation organised ‘Essence of Odisha’ at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi on October 23. Eminent Odissi exponent Sujata Mohapatra with her disciples rendered spell bound dance that enthralled the Delhites.
Mohapatra with her disciples performed Odissi drama "Parampara". “I love the word ‘Parampara” and I want to keep this Parampara,” she said.
The function was inaugurated by Bhubaneswar MP Dr Prasana Kumar Patasani, Director General of ICCR Dr Amarendra Khatua and sociologist, social activist, and founder of Sulabh Sanitation Dr Bindeshwar Pathak.
Parichay Foundation chief Rosalin Patasani Mishra gave vote of thanks. She said, “ The Parichay Foundation is completing nine glorious years from the time of its inception in 2007, giving a new identity to the faceless, voiceless, under-privileged women and children in the slums of Bhubaneshwar and now extending help, co-operation and support to the women and children in the slums of other cities across India."
She further added that Parichay Foundation instills confidence in the mind of a girl child in slum, educates her and enables her to earn her own livelihood, thereby giving her a new 'Parichay' (identity).
Debraj Mohanty, Sangram Dhar, Rashmi Ranjan Parida and Bidyashree Satapathy were felicitated on the occasion.
