Parents seek action against B'pur school

The parents of the Brahmapur MAV Public School brought serious allegations pertaining to the irregularities of the school flouting Covid-19 guidelins and 5T norms.

They submitted a memorandum to the District Education Officer here in this regard recently and drew the attention of the district Collector.

An aggrieved parent and a senior scribe Lalatendu Choudhury has alleged that the way the school authority is conducting online classes for its students in the name of Covid-19 pandemic is completely illegal, unethical, and ineffective as it fails to satisfy both parents and students since online classes conducted by the school do not effectively impact the performance of the students, nor did they help to enhance the understanding level of the pupils.

The school conducts such online classes in haste, without scrutiny of the ability of the students. Such forceful imposition of online classes on students through varied social networking platforms like, YouTube video, WhatsApp group and photography is uncalled for as they fail to clarify their doubts during the course of study, he added.

In spite of the clear mandate of the State Government that no school should impose any fiscal liability on the students during the crucial juncture of Covid-19 pandemic,  the MAV Public School authority had given a deadline for the students to clear the school fees by  September 30.

Choudhury further alleged that, he was told by the Principal over phone that, if the students failed to pay fees before deadline, their name shall be removed from the school register and they would not be allowed to sit in the examination to be held in October.
