The CBSE Class-XII examination results row is far from over with the Odisha Parents’ Association alleging that the CBSE is taking undertakings from the students for providing their answer-sheets.
The board has asked the students to give an undertaking that says the students can’t question the scores awarded to them after revaluation; they can’t provide the duplicate copies of the re-evaluated answer sheets to the schools or media; and they can’t also approach law court in this regard, the association
pointed out.
Sources said that as many as 541 students who had appeared at the CBSE Class XII examinations this year from the Bhubaneswar Region on June 19 have moved the Orissa High Court seeking re-evaluation of their answer papers.
This is the third time students have knocked at the doors of the HC. In the first phase, 18 students had filed petitions while 159 moved the court in the second one, they added.
The aggrieved students from different parts of Odisha have been camping in the city for the last two weeks with a hope of getting additional marks through re-evaluation.
While the results of the first batch of 18 students have been published after re-evaluation in accordance with the HC orders, the second batch is still awaiting their scores.
Meanwhile, the parents’ association has sought an appointment with Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar to apprise him of the ordeal of the affected students.
In 2016, the CBSE had scrapped its age-old practice of board examination paper revaluation as only a few applicants applied for it. Currently, the board does only verification and not re-evaluation.
Recently, the Delhi High Court orally observed that the CBSE should not have done away with its re-evaluation policy as it also makes mistakes in evaluation of answer sheets.
