A fare hike in the bus operated by the Jindal School situated at Soyabali here belies all claims of local development by the JSPl. In a meeting held on April 16, the management issued notices to the parents on hike in the bus fare from Rs450 to Rs1,450 per month, which has not gone down well with parents.
The CBSE school, which started eight years ago, allured parents from the locality by promise of better facilities by the company. Since the parents preferred to get CBSE pattern education for their wards with most schools having Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) pattern, the school management began exercising monopoly.
It kept on hiking the fees under one pretext or the other, thus making the school most expensive for the parents. “If fees and bus fare comes to nearly Rs2,000 per month for a single student, it will be out of the reach of the low income families. Therefore, we are going to inform the District Collector on various problems in the school and seek his intervention,” said a few parents.
