Parents’ assn to organise national seminar

Published on:

The All India Parents’ Association, Odisha Branch, has decided to hold a State-level seminar on “Responsibilities and duties of parents’ at Rourkela on September 28.

That will be attended by association national president Ashok Agarwal, who is also a senior practising lawyer in the Supreme Court, said State general secretary of the association Surendra Dash.

According to Dash, the CBSE has doubled the examination fees for general category pupils for Class-XII i.e. Rs 1,500 from Rs 750 and 24 times for SC and ST pupil i.e. to Rs 1,200 from Rs 50 only. Besides, Rs 150 per each additional paper would be charged.

With this what sort of message the CBSE wants to give, questioned Dash.

As the quality education in State run schools are drastically deteriorating, certain parents curtailing their regular budgets are giving admission to their wards in English Medium schools, but the private English Medium schools are looting the parents by enhancing the tuition fee.

It is all due to the lax administration and no control of the Government on English Medium schools.

It is also unfortunate that like private English Medium schools, the Central Governmenthas increased the tuition and otherfees in Kendriya Vidyalaya unilaterally.

It is just a mockery of the parents and education system by both the State and Central Government. So, to bring a systematic and fruitful reformation in education in national level, a bigger revolution is required and for that the awareness of the parents is inevitable, added Dash.

He hoped that more than 2,500 parents of different schools of the State would participate in the seminar.
