'Paranoid' BJP counters Muktikanta in same fashion

Published on:

After having failed in his “mission to Delhi” to meet the Prime Minister, Rourkela youth Muktikanta was on a  mission to meet CM Naveen Patnaik starting a padayatra on July 30 and finally meeting the CM on August 18.

“The meeting with the CM was fruitful and all credit goes to local MlA Subrat Tatrai for making an appointment with the CM in a short span”, said Muktikanta.

Notably, Muktikanta is on a mission to ensure that the second bridge on Brahmani and upgradation of the IGH into a MCH, which have been delayed much, see the light of day.

Meanwhile, the event has given rise to a comparison by people in the steel city i.e. the attitude of local elected representatives like Jual Oram and Subrat Tarai to the issue.

While instead of cooperating with Muktikanta to meet the PM, Oram allegedly ill treated him but Tarai made all arrangements to meet the CM and have a fruitful discussion with him.

Besides, another talk in the city is ‘is BJP afraid of Muktikantaij’ Because, now-a-days, the very many steps taken by BJP and its leaders seem to counter Muktikanta.

It may be noted here that after being denied to meet the PM and ill treated by the Delhi Police when Mutktikanta returned Rourkela on July 8, he worshipped first at the Shankat Mochan temple near Railway Station and then came in a padayatra procession to Sector-2 Biju Patnaik Chowk.

There he garlanded the statue of Bijubabu. Surprisingly, after one day Sundargarh MP and Union Minister Oram came to Rourkela and in similar manner worshiped at the Shankat Mochan temple first and then coming in a motor cycle procession garlanded the statue of Bijubabu at Sector-2 chowk. Though every month Oram visits Rourkela and passes through Sector-2 chowk frequently but never does he do this.

The action of the BJP did not end with this. Rather on July 30, the day Muktikanta started his second journey to Bhubaneswar from Rourkela, the BJP took out a ‘Treeranga Yatra’ from Koelnagar to Baikuntha Ghat to have a public awareness about the commitment made by the CM for Rourkela but not yet met.

Secondly, Debi Prasad Das, the companion of Muktikanta, who had joined him on July 30 to walk to Bhubaneswar, stopped his campaign mid-way and retuned back to Rourkela after falling out with Muktikanta during first week of August. But surprisingly after a week on August 13, briefing to Press, he alleged Muktikanta as a political agent but on next day he started a Treeranga Yatra in cycle along with some BJP Youth wing leaders in presence of some local BJP leaders to Bhubaneswar to meet the CM. Now the observers say that the actions of BJP since Muktikanta started his journey to Delhi indicate somewhere it is paranoid about him. Time will say how far the BJP will be successful to impress the Rourkelites with these activities.
