Paralakhemundi BJP MLA K Narayan Rao has lambasted the State Government and the Gajapati district administration for large-scale mismanagement and lacklustre attitude in dealing with Covid pandemic situation.
Rao, while addressing a Press Conference on Wednesday, raised many issues relating to ill-treatment of patients and lack of facilities in the district.
“Despite all the tall talks of the Government and claim of no dearth of funds, what happened to the minimum arrangements in the dedicated Covid hospitals and coordination to help patients,” questioned Rao. He further said that it has been difficult to get proper information regarding the facilities available in the district, how many positive cases are under treatment and where. “Nobody knows how many doctors are engaged, to whom to contact and who is looking after what?” he stated The MLA demanded that minimum transparency and accountability be maintained in these regards.
“I am unable to understand why the Government is shying away from disclosing the details of investments and expenditure in the Covid fight,” Rao wondered.
