The lawyers of Paralakhemundi on Friday staged a dharna in front of the tehsil office protesting against the apathetic attitude of the tehsil office employees.
lawyers’ Association president P Prasad Rao and senior lawyers Suresh Patnaik and Subash Chandra Rao said that when common people are applying for any certificate in the tehsil office, the employees are harassing them. The employees are instructing the people to bring reports from the police station.
If someone is applying for a relative’s death certificate, the applicant is asked to bring the postmortem report, said P Prasad Rao.
The lawyers also demanded a decrease of the fees of mutation and OlR cases from Rs30 to Rs10.
The lawyers called off their stir after getting an assurance of solution from Paralakhemundi Tehsildar Kedarnath Bhoi.
